Product Description
Vaseline is a white, yellow, or light amber semi-solid substance, almost odorless and tasteless. It is a mixture of liquid and solid paraffin hydrocarbons. Vaseline is insoluble in water, but soluble in ether, petroleum ether, benzene, and some oils. It is non-corrosive, pH-neutral, and does not exhibit alkaline properties. When spread thinly, it appears transparent and can show slight fluorescence under UV light. Vaseline is stable, non-reactive under normal conditions, and resistant to weak acids and bases.
